Porsche DPF Cleaning - Filton, Bristol

What is a DPF, and what does it do?

A diesel particulate filter, or DPF for short, removes the harmful particles of soot from the exhaust gas of a diesel Porsche engine to prevent them from being released into the atmosphere.

There are several DPF design variants, and some are so efficient that they are almost 100% effective, but problems occur when there is a blockage, and this can present itself in several ways:

• engine power appears to be reduced
• fuel consumption is increasing
• stop-start function does not work properly
• excess exhaust smoke
• distinctive smell of diesel
